Time for Your Annual Physical? Walk Right In

You don’t need a referral from a primary doctor to get an annual physical exam at American Family Care clinics. Just walk right in. Our clinics have extended morning, evening, and weekend hours to fit your schedule.

Annual Physical Exams and Wellness Checks. No Appointment Needed

Annual exams are a solid view of your health while a wellness check is more like a snapshot. Annual physicals involve comprehensive medical evaluations and lab tests. A wellness exam is more of a routine check of blood pressure, weight, or any other issues that might concern you. With either exam, you’ll know whether you’re on track or need to make changes to meet your health goals.

Bring any medical records or a list of medicines with you. At your annual check-up, your doctor will:

  • Review your medical history.
  • Check your vital signs.
  • Examine your chest, abdomen, neck, throat, heart, lungs, skin, reflexes, etc.
  • Order laboratory work.
  • Review or update your vaccines.
  • Recommend any age-specific tests.
  • Manage your prescriptions.

URGENT CARE FAQs

QUESTION: What do AFC providers look for during physicals?

A: A physical exam takes an overview of your health, and providers are looking to make sure that things seem to be functioning normally. For instance, they take a visual exam of your eyes, ears, nose, and throat, and feel for lumps. They use instruments to check your reflexes and heart rate.

QUESTION: What types of questions will I have to answer?

A: Your AFC provider might ask some simple questions about your health history, diet, drug and alcohol use, and so forth.

QUESTION: How long should I expect to be in your office for my physical exam?

A: AFC clinics are streamlined to minimize wait times. We’ll get you in to see a provider as soon as possible, and your exam could take around 30 minutes.

How do I get the new COVID-19 Vaccine?

Getting a COVID-19 vaccine is the best, safest way to not get severely ill. Like all vaccines, the COVID-19 vaccine teaches your body how to develop its own immunity to the virus that causes this illness. A COVID-19 vaccine usually requires two doses. The second shot happens 14 to 28 days after the first. It takes about three weeks after your last shot to develop immunity. Getting a COVID-19 vaccination will depend on availability and guidelines in your state. Contact us about getting a COVID-19 vaccination.
