Our urgent care centers provide walk-in medical care on an extended hours basis for the treatment of acute illnesses and injuries that are non life-threatening. AFC Urgent Care Aberdeen’ state-of-the-art paperless centers feature digital x-rays, an on-site laboratory, and prescription medication dispensation. AFC Urgent Care Aberdeen is actively searching for physicians who enjoy the practice of medicine with the support of highly-trained clinical staff. We offer full medical malpractice insurance coverage and no on-call requirements. Our centers are open weekdays from 8am to 8pm and weekends from 8am to 5pm.

Position Description

Physicians report directly to our Medical Director and are primarily responsible for the provision of high quality medical care to our urgent care and occupational medicine patients. Physicians must also:

  • Actively manage all aspects of patient care while on shift;
  • Supervise and direct the center’s other clinical staff (Medical Assistants, X-Ray Technicians, etc.);
  • Collect biological specimens and process them in the laboratory for testing;
  • Ensure that all charts and medical records are accurately completed in a timely manner; and
  • Adhere to all clinical policies and procedures promulgated by our Medical Director.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about the practice of medicine;
  • Active and current NJ medical license, NJ C.D.S. card and Federal D.E.A. number;
  • Board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine;
  • Active A.C.L.S. and B.L.S. certifications;
  • Significant prior urgent care experience;
  • Emergency room experience a plus;
  • Familiarity with occupational medicine;
  • Comfort and experience treating patients of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics;
  • Clinical ability to suture lacerations, set minor fractures, drain abscesses, and read x-rays;
  • Effective and compassionate communicator with staff, patients, and family;
  • Willingness to mentor clinical staff;
  • Highly professional appearance and attitude;
  • Able to multi-task effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment;
  • High-energy individual with a positive attitude; and
  • Comfortable working with electronic medical records.

Certified Medical Assistant

Position Description

Certified Medical Assistants are primarily responsible for assisting our board-certified medical providers with the provision of patient medical care. Our Certified Medical Assistants report to the Center Administrator for non-clinical matters, the Medical Director for clinical matters as well as the medical provider on-duty. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting and registering patients as well as handling related administrative duties;
  • Escorting patients to examination rooms;
  • Assisting with patient triage by taking vital signs;
  • Documenting relevant patient data;
  • Assisting the medical provider on-duty;
  • Discharging patients with detailed instructions;
  • Maintaining efficient and organized patient flow;
  • Tracking and replenishing inventories and other supplies;
  • Assisting with equipment maintenance;
  • Ensuring cleanliness of the waiting area, reception counter, and examination rooms; and
  • Adhering to all center policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of clinical experience in a medical office setting;
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Associates Degree;
  • Prior urgent care experience preferred;
  • Familiarity with occupational medicine a plus;
  • Compassionate communicator with excellent patient interaction skills;
  • Highly professional appearance;
  • Team-player able to multi-task effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment;
  • High-energy individual with a positive attitude; and
  • Comfortable working with electronic medical records.

X-Ray Technologist

Position Description

X-Ray Technologists are primarily responsible for performing all diagnostic x-rays and assisting with the provision of patient medical care. Our X-Ray Technologists report to the Center Administrator for non-clinical matters, the Medical Director for clinical matters as well as the medical provider on-duty. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing all diagnostic x-rays;
  • Performing point of care diagnostic tests;
  • Ensuring that x-ray room and examination rooms are cleaned following each patient visit;
  • Assisting medical provider with patient care, as requested;
  • Assisting nursing staff with the triaging of newly registered patients;
  • Directing patients to examination rooms and ensuring rooms are setup based on patients’ initial complaints;
  • Assisting with front-office administrative duties (e.g., greeting and registering patients, copying insurance cards, verifying co-pays, etc.)
  • Re-stocking medical supplies;
  • Maintaining general center cleanliness; and
  • Adhering to all center policies and procedures.

Our center’s Lead X-Ray Technologist would be additionally responsible for:

  • Ensuring that the x-ray equipment is operationally maintained;
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training all x-ray technician staff; and
  • Ensuring that monitoring badges of all x-ray staff are up-to-date.

Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of post-graduation experience working as a licensed X-Ray Technologist;
  • Fundamental understanding of digital x-ray services;
  • Understanding of the concepts of universal precautions, HIPAA, and OSHA;
  • Compassionate communicator with excellent patient interaction skills;
  • Highly professional appearance;
  • Team-player able to multi-task effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment;
  • High-energy individual with a positive attitude; and
  • Comfortable working with electronic medical records.
