What we need:
We are currently seeking energetic, driven and team oriented Medical Assistants with Limited X-Ray (LXMO) or ARRT credentials. The candidate will have good communication skills, attention to detail, and focus on high quality patient care. The job entails compassionately assisting our patients and supporting our providers in order to serve our patients with both exceptional and efficient medical care.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
The duties will be performed in accordance to policy and procedure, standard of care, and in accordance of state certification. The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Report to Clinic Manager
- Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician or physician assistant
- Perform x-rays
- Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant
- Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
- Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
- Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)
- All other duties as assigned by Clinic Manager.
Secondary Functions:
The following functions may typically be performed by other positions, however these may require the additional assistance from MAs:
- Scheduling of patient appointments
- Registering patients to include: Collection and verification of insurance, collection of payments, appropriately following our patient reminder process.
- Assisting with our inventory ordering process by pulling inventory cards and relaying this information to Inventory Coordinator.
Specific Job Skills:
- Team player who is equally comfortable working independently
- Warm, friendly attitude with excellent patient interaction skills
- Ability to understand medical terminology.
- Must possess strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and dependability.
- Skilled in Office Productivity software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
Required Education and/or Experience:
- High school or GED required. Copies of certifications and/or diplomas required upon hire.
- Experience in a medical office setting, 1 year preferred
- Oregon LXMO or ARRT. Certifications required upon hire.
- Medical Assistant Diploma
