After suffering through spring allergies, we all thought we would be in the clear, right? Wrong. Summer has come in full force and bringing the same pain with it! While we appreciate the beautiful weather, we don’t appreciate the pollen. Pollen counts are extremely high this summer and even though all trees and flowers have bloomed, we can’t forget about the grasses and weeds that consistently grow during summer months. Here is a quick list of all the grasses and weeds that cause allergies due to pollen:
Grasses
- Sweet vernal
- Bermuda
- Blue
- Orchard
- Timothy
Weeds
- Ragweed
- Russian Thistle
- Pigweed
- Tumbleweed
- Sage Brush
If you feel any type of discomfort this summer, such as; runny nose, itchy/watery eyes, congestion, coughing, sneezing, etc. then more likely than not, you are suffering from summer allergies. You can help treat these with any type of over the counter drug at a local pharmacy. Be sure to contact your doctor to figure out which works best for you!
