Why Do I Need to Worry About Ticks?
Well, a tick bite in and of itself may just be annoying. But ticks can also carry disease, which is why it's important to take precautions to prevent tick bites, especially when spending time outdoors.

- Wear long sleeves and pants to protect skin.
- Wear light colors.
- Perform a thorough skin check when coming indoors.
What Exactly Is Lyme Disease?
As previously mentioned, tick bites can sometimes carry disease. Of those tick-borne diseases, Lyme disease is the most common and well-known.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are more than 30,000 cases of Lyme disease reported each year. If you discover a tick bite and then develop any symptoms of Lyme disease, it's very important to seek prompt treatment.
