Put your mind in the right place by emphasizing to yourself that this isn’t just a “resolution.” It’s a lifestyle change toward a healthier life. Then, you can move on to your goals. Don’t set a goal to lose 50 pounds in one month. While that would be great, it’s completely unachievable and unhealthy. You want to set yourself up for success, not failure. So set your goals in a reasonable manner. For instance, aim to lose five pounds this month. Then, once you achieve that, aim to lose five pounds the next. Do you have a desire to run a marathon one day? Promise yourself you will hit small tasks along the way to your bigger goal to run a marathon at the end of the year. You want to keep yourself motivated, and seeing yourself hit these small (yet BIG) landmarks will help!
