Flu season starts within the fall and winter months, and can sometimes last until May. The best way to stay safe and healthy is by getting a flu shot. The end of October is the best time to be prepared for the season ahead, but there is no bad time to get a flu shot. Our physicians can help you determine which medications will help ease any symptoms.
While the flu shot will not give you the flu, you may still experience symptoms, or have the chance to still catch the flu. The flu shot is 70% effective, but will help contain the spread to those around you who are higher risk. It can be overwhelming to try to self medicate with all of the direct to consumer drugs that are available today. You do not want to be taking the wrong medicine that will not help your symptoms.
