Dr. Leia Dawson, D.O.

American Family Care (AFC) East Cobb proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Leia Dawson, D.O. as the Medical Director, a position pivotal to the upcoming clinic's successful launch in 2023.

A seasoned healthcare professional with roots deeply embedded in the Southeastern United States, Dr. Dawson hails from Birmingham, AL, and has been a resident of Cobb County for 11 years. She is a distinguished alumna of Xavier University of Louisiana, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree and a double minor in chemistry and Spanish completing a semester of studies in Seville, Spain. Dr. Dawson furthered her education by obtaining a master’s in public health degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham where she completed a summer of research in St. Ann, Jamaica resulting in publication. Her medical journey culminated with the completion of a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Dr. Dawson brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to AFC East Cobb, already establishing the clinic as an esteemed member of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce. She oversees a dedicated team of 14 staff members, ensuring that the clinic operates at the highest standard of patient care.
