X-Ray Appointments and Walk-Ins

Digital X-Ray Services in Frazer, PA

AFC Urgent Care & Walk-in Clinic of Frazer, PA Provides Fast, Timely and The Highest Quality Medical Care

If you or a loved one suffers a minor accident or injury, your first thought may be to visit a local Frazer Emergency Room immediately. Your primary care provider is unlikely to have same-day appointments available, so this might be your only practical choice. However, there is no need to visit an expensive and overcrowded ER. Instead, visit the board-certified providers at AFC Urgent Care Frazer and utilize our onsite digital x-ray to search for any fractures. No appointment is needed to access this service, and we will analyze these images to ensure no broken bones.

If we find any fractures, we will stabilize the injury so it can begin to heal properly. A delay in diagnosing a broken bone may prolong its recovery and make it more expensive. It is always a good idea to know for sure with an x-ray. Even if you suffer a sprain or a strain, a fracture may be hidden in that injury. We strive to get you in and out as quickly as possible at our walk-in urgent care center.

When Should You Visit AFC Urgent Care

Frazer for X-Ray Services?

X-rays are an invaluable diagnostic tool used to gain a better understanding of what is happening inside the body. They can reveal issues within the musculoskeletal system and detect pathologies such as tumors, fractures, and broken bones. X-rays should be considered when there is suspicion of injury or illness.

Here's when you should consider an X-ray as a crucial step in your path to wellness:

  • Injury from Accidents or Falls: If you’ve experienced an accident or fall, especially one that involves trauma to the body, an X-ray is essential. Even if there are no visible fractures or injuries, X-rays can uncover hidden damage to bones or tissues.
  • Unexplained or Persistent Pain: When you’re dealing with persistent pain that has no obvious cause or refuses to subside after a few days, it’s time to consider an X-ray. It can help doctors pinpoint the source of your discomfort, allowing for more effective treatment.
  • Osteoporosis or Risk of Skeletal Problems: Individuals diagnosed with conditions like osteoporosis or those at a higher risk for skeletal issues should consider regular X-ray screenings. These screenings enable healthcare providers to track changes over time and catch potential problems before they worsen.
  • Confirming Suspicious Findings: In cases where other imaging techniques, such as ultrasounds or CT scans, reveal something unusual or inconclusive, an X-ray can provide a clearer picture. This can help doctors make more informed decisions about further testing or treatment.
  • Previous Unidentified Medical Issues: If you’ve had a medical issue in the past that was not properly identified or treated, an X-ray can be a valuable tool for obtaining an accurate diagnosis. It ensures that you receive the appropriate care as soon as possible.

Is it painful to get an X-ray? Why is it a digital X-ray?

X-rays are not painful to receive! Most people’s experience with an X-ray often involves going to the dentist. It is just as quick and painless to x-ray a part of your body as it is your teeth. During the process, X-ray beams will pass through your body and produce an image. The image that is produced greatly depends on what material the X-ray is passing through. For example:

  • Bones – If they are dense, white. If there is a fracture, we will see the white broken up in the image.
  • Muscles – Less dense than bones, so that it will show up gray.
  • Air in your lungs – The least dense of all, so it will show up much darker on an X-ray image.

Our X-ray services are available seven days a week, meaning you can see us when it is most convenient for you. X-rays will be read on-site, and our providers will go over the results with you before you leave, giving you your answers in a single visit. We will then send you home with a CD copy of the images we take and can forward them to your primary care provider upon request.

We look forward to meeting you at AFC Urgent Care Frazer!
