DOT Physical Medical Exam in Frazer, PA

AFC Urgent Care DOT Certified Medical Examiners Administer Medical Physical Exams Needed for Your Commercial Driver's License in Frazer, PA

At AFC Urgent Care Frazer, our providers have years of experience performing DOT Physical Exams for many drivers in Frazer, PA, and the surrounding areas. They are Nationally Registered Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). We know the ins and outs of this examination and will process your exam as quickly as possible. When a deadline for a DOT Physical is looming, don't risk missing work while you wait for your regular provider to become available! Get physically cleared for your DOT today!

This examination will include:

  • Recording your height, blood sugar levels, heart rate, and blood pressure.
  • Reviewing your vision, lung, and hearing functions.
  • Urinalysis
  • A complete review of your medical history.

We recommend that you use the following non-exhaustive list to ensure that you are adequately prepared for your physical exam by bringing all that are applicable with you to our center for your exam:

  • Any prescription glasses or contact lenses
  • A current list of all prescribed medications
  • A complete and accurate list of your past medical history
  • Your current state driver's license
  • Most recent A1C (if applicable)
  • Cardiac clearance letter (If applicable)
  • CPAP compliance report (If applicable)

As a reminder, FMCSA requires drivers to be fluent in English to obtain a CDL certificate. Chapter 49 in the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 391.11(b)(2), reads as follows:

[a person is qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle if he or she] (2) Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.]

As the Department of Transportation requires, a DOT Physical must be passed once every two years unless a medical condition needs to be monitored more closely. After a DOT Physical, our provider must choose to qualify, disqualify, or temporarily disqualify the driver. Some drivers may require further medical documentation or test results to meet qualification standards. No extra fees will apply if a patient returns within 30 days with the requested medical documentation or test results. At the time of a patient's return, they will be reevaluated to determine if they meet the FCMSA guidelines. Drivers who pass their DOT Exam will receive their DOT Medical Examiner Certificate (MEC) on the same day!

We are committed to getting drivers on the road quickly and safely.

If you are an employer whose employees need DOT Physicals completed regularly, make AFC Urgent Care Frazer your go-to place for all of your DOT Physical needs.
