Frequently Asked Questions at Walk-in & Urgent Care Clinic in Frazer, PA

At AFC Urgent Care Urgent Care & Walk-in Clinic in Frazer, PA, we look forward to helping you feel better.

What Type of Medical Treatment do you provide?

We specialize in high-quality, compassionate, and effective medical care for most non-life-threatening conditions due to illness or injury, including family and preventive care. We also perform physicals, offer travel medicine, and a wide range of occupational employer services. We bridge the gap between a primary care physician and the ER, providing extended hours, seven days a week, with CLIA-certified labs, digital x-rays, splints & braces, vaccines, prescriptions & some non-narcotic medications. However, you should always call 911 and seek a hospital ER if you have a life-threatening condition or emergency.

How is an Urgent Care different from my regular doctor’s office?

Since we are a walk-in center, you can be treated at AFC Urgent Care Center without making an appointment. We are open 7 days a week and here for you when you and your family need immediate care. While we both care for common illnesses, urgent care is better for non-life-threatening injuries requiring X-rays, sutures, and orthopedic equipment like splints and boots. We can also provide quick blood tests and lab results to address certain medical conditions. We are here to help with specific issues relating to chronic health issues, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or psychiatric disorders, where long-term management of these conditions is better addressed in primary care offices.

What is the difference between Urgent Care and Emergency Room?

Urgent care is for conditions that require prompt, urgent attention but do not pose an immediate, serious threat to your health or life. Medical issues that are life-threatening, call 911 or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an Urgent Care Center such as AFC Urgent Care Frazer is an excellent alternative. Many of our providers have worked or continue to work part-time in local emergency rooms. We take pride in the experience of our medical team.
