Medical examinations are required for all individuals applying for U.S. green cards or citizenship, per the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Only physicians designated as civil surgeons by USCIS are able to complete an immigration physical, and AFC Urgent Care Hamilton has the physicians onsite to handle the needs for applicants of all ages.
Why Do I Need an Immigration Physical?
Unlike a regular physical exam, immigration physicals are used mainly as a screening tool to check whether it is safe to allow a person into the United States. Certain medical conditions may require you to be placed in quarantine until you get better, and other conditions can bar you from admission to the United States, such as communicable serious diseases posing a public health threat.
We offer the following tests and immunizations in Hamilton during an immigrant physical, including:
- Syphilis blood test
- Flu shot
- Diptheria vaccine
- Pertussis vaccine
- Mumps vaccine
- Rubella vaccine
- Meningococcal vaccine
- Pneumococcal vaccine
- Gonorrhea urine test
- Measles vaccine
- Tetanus vaccine
- Polio vaccine
- Rotavirus vaccine
- Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B vaccines
- Varicella vaccine
Please bring a valid form of photo ID, and a copy of your vaccination history, as well as a translation of the documents if your vaccination reports are not in English. If you do not have these records, our physicians can perform a blood test to prove you’ve been immunized previously. If you need any additional testing or vaccinations, AFC Urgent Care Hamilton can provide blood work, X-rays and vaccinations during the same visit, for your convenience.
