Stitches

If you have been in a non-life threatening injury & have experienced a deep cut or gash, AFC Urgent Care Haverhill can help stitch you back up. Stitches are extremely important if you have an open wound that splits the skin to a point where it may not be able to repair itself in the correct amount of time it needs. When you get an open wound you are leaving yourself vulnerable to illnesses.

Signs you need Stitches

Some signs that indicate that you may need stitches are:

  • The cut is very deep
  • More than a half inch wide
  • Has Ragged edges
  • Some materials are in the wound such as grass or Gravel
  • Rust or animal bite
  • Wound keeps bleeding

Symptoms

Some illness you may get from not getting stitches when needed are:

  • Rash all over the body
  • Puss coming from the wound
  • The wound will turn a blackish color
  • Wound smells bad
  • Hasn’t healed in 10 days
  • Pimples starting forming around the wound

Our physicians will make sure to asses if you need stitches then clean your wounds & then give you the correct amount of stitches if necessary. If you have any questions please give us a call at (781) 691-9366 or come to our facilities at 296 Main St in Haverhill, MA.

AFC Urgent Care FAQs

  • Why choose AFC for Urgent Care?

With state-of-the-art centers and a professional medical team, AFC provides on-site X-rays, labs, procedures, and more!

  • What's the difference between AFC Urgent Care and emergency room services?

Urgent care is for medical conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life. Here is a simple rule of thumb: if your medical issues(s) are life threatening, call 911, or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an urgent care center such as AFC is an excellent alternative.
