AFC Urgent Care Havertown’s Walk-In Clinic Provides Vaccines and Medicine for Your International Travel Needs in Havertown, PA

Regardless if it is for pleasure or business, traveling overseas can be fun! Being sick halfway around the world is not. AFC Urgent Care Havertown in Delaware County is your go-to medical facility to help prepare your immune system for travel while you pack your bags. Our walk-in urgent care center carries all of the needed travel vaccines to protect you. We are also an ideal location to bring the entire family or your employees for one-stop vaccinations. Do not wait days for your primary care physician to be available or take a day off from work to fit an inconvenient appointment time. Visit our Delco based urgent care center today and let us help protect your health from dangerous preventable diseases.

We suggest you visit with our board-certified doctors 4 to 6 weeks in advance before your departure. This amount of time will allow immunizations to take full effect in your body. Bring a copy of your travel plans, and we will check with the latest CDC guidance to see what vaccines are recommended. To better serve you, please bring any vaccination records with you so we can determine if additional booster shots are needed for previous immunizations. Just like other medications, you never want to get too much of a vaccine. While we do suggest visiting our location 4 to 6 weeks in advance, we can accommodate last minute travelers with no appointment needed.

Besides offering vaccines, we can also administer and complete any required physicals for travel. Simply bring in the forms you need to be filled out, and you will leave with completed forms after a thorough medical exam. Our urgent care center’s onsite pharmacy is fully stocked to provide you with common travel medications including:

  • Typhoid
  • Hepatitis A
  • Rabies
  • Japanese Encephalitis
  • Yellow Fever (Note: There is a national shortage of this vaccine and may not be readily available, please call)
  • Anti-Malaria
  • Anti-Diarrheal
  • Altitude Sickness
  • Motion Sickness

AFC Urgent Care FAQs

  • Why choose AFC for Urgent Care?

With state-of-the-art centers and a professional medical team, AFC provides on-site X-rays, labs, procedures, and more!

  • What's the difference between AFC Urgent Care and emergency room services?

Urgent care is for medical conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life. Here is a simple rule of thumb: if your medical issues(s) are life threatening, call 911, or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an urgent care center such as AFC is an excellent alternative.
