Frequently Asked Questions at Walk-in & Urgent Care Clinic in Havertown, PA
At AFC Urgent Care & Walk-in Clinic in Havertown, PA, We Look Forward to Helping You Feel Better.
What Type of Medical Treatment do you provide?
We specialize in fast and effective physician care for most non-life threatening conditions due to illness or injury, preventive care, travel medicine, allergy testing, and employer services. We bridge the gap between a primary care physician and the ER, providing extended hours, seven days a week, with CLIA-certified labs, digital x-ray, splints & braces, vaccines, prescriptions & some non-narcotic medications.
What is the difference between Urgent Care and Emergency Room?
Urgent care is for conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate, serious threat to your health or life. In general, if your medical issue is life-threatening, call 911 or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an Urgent Care Center such as AFC Urgent Care Havertown is an excellent alternative.
Do I have to make an appointment?
No, you can walk in during normal business hours and be seen by a physician without a long wait.
Do you take my insurance?
We participate with most major insurance carriers. See the full list under the patient resources tab of this website, or call us at (484) 452-9400.
How much does a typical visit cost?
For insured patients, it depends on your insurance plan. We collect any deductible or co-pay you may have at the time of service and then bill your insurer for you.
For patients without insurance, our self-pay rates are always discounted to be affordable. An illness or injury-related office visit with one of our board-certified doctors is $125. Our staff will discuss any other recommended treatment or services (such as an x-ray or a lab test) with you.
How much will the visit cost if I have no insurance?
For patients without insurance, our self-pay rates are always discounted to be affordable. An illness or injury-related office visit with one of our board-certified doctors is $125.
We also offer on-site lab testing, state-of-the-art digital X-Rays, and on-site prescription medication. The costs for these services are additional, but we will always explain the cost before proceeding with any procedure so you can decide whether to move forward.
If I have insurance, will I get a bill after my visit?
Our fees are fixed, but the amount your insurance company covers depends on your specific plan, coverage, and deductible. After your insurer produces an EOB (explanation of benefits), we will bill you for the remaining balance if there is a balance due. If your insurance carrier rejects any claims, we will send you a bill for any uncovered services. Our staff can provide you with the needed documentation if you wish to appeal the decision from your insurance carrier.
Can I get a discount?
Our rates are very affordable for self-pay patients. For insured patients, coverage depends on your plan and deductible.

Testing positive in the skin test allows you to learn about your condition and get the necessary allergy treatment. AFC Urgent Care offers sublingual immunotherapy to reduce your sensitivity to allergens effectively. It is approved by the Food and Drug Administration and safe to take with your allergy medications.
How much do specific vaccines cost?
The cost of each vaccine is different. Our medical team will contact you after you submit the Travel Vaccination Questionnaire, and they will let you know the cost of each vaccine.
What are various allergy symptoms and triggers?
There are different ways to tell if you are having an allergic reaction. Sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and sinus headaches are the most common. Asthma and skin rashes also happen in some cases.
