COVID-19 Testing
Urgent Care
Many sexually transmitted diseases and infections can exist within your body for some time without displaying outward symptoms or signs that something is wrong. However, within your body, an STD can cause major issues with both your sexual and overall health. In order to make sure you are fully aware of each aspect of your health, undergoing periodic testing is critical to learn your STD status and get the proper care you need. Many people may put off testing due to stigma around sexually transmitted diseases, but many STDs can be easily and quickly treated if detected early. However, the only way to know that you have an STD is by getting tested.
Visit AFC Urgent Care Louisville or Boulder to get tested for any STD. We offer discrete and confidential testing for all patients.
When should I undergo STD testing?
Sexually transmitted diseases and infections are spread through contact with bodily fluids or through sexual contact, including vaginal, anal and oral sex. If you are sexually active, you should be tested every six to twelve months, even if you are in a monogamous relationship. Other reasons you should get tested include:
- You are starting a relationship with a new partner
- You or your partner have sex with multiple partners
- Your partner has cheated on you
- You or your partner have experimented with intravenous drugs
If you are considered a high-risk patient or have been exposed to an STD, consult with your doctor about more frequent testing.
