AFC Urgent Care Marlborough now offers sports injury care. We encourage parents to put their children in school sports! School sports offer a lot for a child such as:
- Teaches healthy eating habits
- Teaches exercise tips
- Teaches character
- Gives your child a friend group/support system
However, if your child is in contact sports sometimes they will still get injured. Below are some of the treatments that we offer to get your child back on the field!
Cuts & Stitches
Contact sports have more of a chance of getting a physical injury in gameplay such a football or soccer. If you have a deep gash or cut our physicians will look at you and go through the assessment process which is:
- Clean the wound
- Asses if the wound needs stitches
- Administer stitches if necessary
- Bandage wound & tell recovery time.
Breaks & X-rays
If your child has suffered a hard collision & feels a break may have happened we can treat that too. Our physicians will offer the option of doing an x-ray. After the X-ray, they will then see what kind of break your child has and plan the next course of action. The current breaks that we treat are:
- Fractures (hairline, Oblique)
- Breaks in minor parts of the body
- toes
- fingers
- feet
- hands
