The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requires you to get a full immigration physical exam. This exam is to make sure you don’t have physical issues or mental disorders that may prevent you from being approved. Our physicians understand that USCIC doctors must follow the government’s strict guidelines and procedures for your exams. You can rest assured that your forms and report will be done correctly.
Per the direction of the USCIS, all people applying for a green card or for permanent residence in the United States must undergo an immigration physical, which consists of a medical examination and a physical examination. They aim to promote immigrant health while preventing infectious diseases from entering the U.S. The physical must be performed by a civil surgeon, or doctor that has been certified by USCIS. Additionally, these physicals can only be conducted in person, not virtually.
Medical examinations are required for all individuals applying for U.S. green cards or citizenship, per the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Only physicians designated as civil surgeons by USCIS are able to complete an immigration physical, and AFC Urgent Care Memorial City has the physicians onsite to handle the needs for applicants of all ages.
All people applying for a green card or permanent immigration status must receive this examination. In addition to evaluating your overall physical and mental health, the examination tests for certain infectious diseases such as syphilis, gonorrhea and tuberculosis. These conditions are considered inadmissible and people with them will either not be permitted to enter the U.S. or they must wait to enter once the condition has been resolved in quarantine.
Your doctor will order a chest X-ray and blood tests. Your physical and mental disposition will be assessed through X-rays, blood tests, and diagnostic observation. In addition to your Form I-693, bring your medical and vaccination records for the doctor. If you don’t have proof of your vaccinations, you can request a blood test to prove immunization.
When you visit AFC Urgent Care Memorial City, your Immigration Physical will include:
*Most immigration physicals typically need additional vaccinations, blood tests, TB blood test (T-Spot), and possibly a chest X-ray to complete a certified application. All of these services are available at our center at affordable rates. Please do not receive additional vaccines before talking with our doctor, as this could affect the TB screening.
While appointments at AFC Urgent Care Memorial City are not required, we recommend scheduling your immigration physical ahead of time to make sure our citizen surgeon is available. To make an appointment, call (346) 385-5989 or fill out our online form. For more information about immigration physicals, visit https://www.uscis.gov/.
