Nanuet Sport Injuries at AFC Urgent Care

Back to school season also means sports season is starting back up. 1 out of 3 families has at least 1 child that is enrolled in school sports or physical activities. We here at AFC urgent Care Nanuet encourage parents to enroll their children in sports because it is a good way to keep them active & healthy. All physical sports come with a risk, so it is important to be mindful of potential injuries that your child might get.

Break/Fractures

We offer services for a variety of broken bones that are of a non-life threatening scale. the different types of fractures we treat are:

• Hairline
• Traverse
• Oblique

We will treat fractures on all parts of the body. We have treatment for non-life-threatening breaks as well. Mainly minor breaks. A minor break would qualify as:

• Fingers
• Toes
• Rist
• Nose
• Damage to shins

We also treat other types of bone injuries such as bruises. Bone bruises occur when the bone is struck with immense force but not enough to break or fracture it.

Lacerations

Lacerations are deep cuts that can occur during sports. More than likely a laceration will require stitches. We will clean the wound & asses if stitches are necessary.

X-Rays

If your child has been involved in a sporting accident & you feel he may have a break or fracture we provide X-rays!
