<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignright size-full wp-image-3418" alt="National Regristy of Certified Medical Examiniers FMCSA" src="https://www.afcurgentcarenatick.com/wp-content/uploads/NRCME.gif" width="162" height="126">By May 21, 2014, all certified medical examiners must be on the National Registry database, and drivers must obtain a medical examination from a certified examiner.</p>
<p><b><i>Health care professionals who perform medical examinations for interstate truck and bus drivers must be trained, tested, and certified on the specific physical qualifications that affect a driver’s ability to safely operate the vehicle.</i></b></p>
<p>The National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (National Registry) is a new Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) program. It requires all medical examiners (MEs) who wish to perform physical examinations for interstate commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers to be trained and certified in FMCSA physical qualification standards. Medical examiners who have completed the training and successfully passed the test are included in an online directory on the <a href="http://nrcme.fmcsa.dot.gov/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">National Registry</a> website.</p>
<p>At AFC in Natick, we realize the importance of remaining compliant. We took the necessary steps, well in advance, to assure that our lead doctor is Nationally Registered and able to continue to perform your DOT physicals when the new regulations take place in May of this year (2014).</p>
