Safety while traveling
Public transportation already has a ton of germs from the number of people who use it on a daily basis. From buses to trains to planes, there is a high risk of contracting any virus in these places. With COVID happening, specific regulations are set in place, whether they are determined by the government or the company itself. Everyone is doing their part to stop the COVID spread. To stay safe, maintain a six-foot distance from others, and wear a mask that covers your nose. Do not lower your mask for the duration of the trip unless instructed by a public official. Do not travel or go into public if you have tested positive or are experiencing symptoms.
Keeping others safe
Try and keep gatherings to a minimum this holiday. It may not be easy, but it is assumed that the second wave of COVID was elevated from groups of people outside of their household and not social distancing. The best way to protect your loved ones is by not having physical contact with them. If these gatherings cannot be avoided, keep them to your immediate family and household. Inviting external guests increases the chance of spread. Try and keep all events outside where the air is properly ventilated, if possible. Avoid sharing any food or beverages with others, and do not make a buffet-style meal.
General Safety
No matter who you see or what you do this holiday, there are a few general rules that can be put into practice. Avoid touching anyone or coming in close contact with others. Always wear your mask when around others, and do not share any food or drinks with others. Pets should be treated as household members and should also avoid contact with anyone outside of the household when possible. Try and keep as many visits as possible to being virtual. While it is not the same, the holidays are not typical this year, and it’s essential to try and slow the spread.
