Each year millions children and teenagers participate in organized sports through school, sport, or camp programs in their local community. A majority of these programs require an annual physical to assess the student’s fitness level, examine existing injuries, and detect situations that may lead to increased risk of injury during physical activity.
At our AFC Urgent Care center in Paramus, NJ your child or teen can stop in any time for a complete physical, no appointment necessary. Patients receive a one – on – one evaluation by a board-certified physician which includes the following and more:
- Review of medical history
- Complete physical examination
- Review of vaccination reports
- Administration of missing vaccines
- Urgent care for existing acute illnesses or injuries
Our exams are customized to meet the specific requirements of the program to which your child is applying. We provide service from start to finish, meaning your child will leave with a complete physical and all of the medical documentation needed for submission. We accept most insurances and offer deeply discounted self pay rates our physicals are affordable. How long will the exam take?
AFC offers some of the lowest wait times around, with many patients getting in to see a provider in less than 15 minutes. Your exam will probably take around a half hour.

What happens if my physical reveals I have a medical problem?
We’ll complete your paperwork as required, but if it’s something we can help with we might be able to provide you with treatment on the spot. With in-house labs at many locations, you could be on your way without the need for a second visit.
