COVID-19 Testing

Do you think you need a COVID-19 test? Whether you are experiencing symptoms, getting back from a trip, or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19, come into our center to get tested today!

At American Family Care, our primary focus has always been our patients. We want to make sure you have the tests and information you need to best take care of yourself and your loved ones. At AFC Urgent Care Phoenixville, we offer rapid testing so that you can get your results quickly. Furthermore, we also test for Flu A/B, strep, and other illnesses that produce similar symptoms, so even if you don't have COVID, we can get you the proper treatment. Both types of testing require an office visit to assess symptoms and the best testing options for you.

We offer 2 types of COVID testing: Rapid Antigen Point of Care testing and a PCR send out Lab test.

Rapid Antigen Point of Care Test:

• Nasal Swab that is analyzed at our center, similar to the rapid flu test
• It is not as sensitive as the PCR test, so it is not recommended for patients who have no symptoms.
• Results available in 20 minutes, used widely as a diagnostic tool to rule out COVID-19

PCR COVID test:

• Nasal swab that is sent to a outside lab for testing.
• Results are usually obtained in 2-5 days.
• Usually considered the gold standard of COVID testing.
