Greg bought into the AFC Franchise to serve a need in our community and fill that gap between Primary Care and the Emergency Room as well as put Customer Service back in to healthcare after his own bad experiences. He offers a significant Business & Marketing background and considers his biggest responsibilities to be: providing the resources necessary for each team member to perform their duties at the highest levels to serve our community to the best of our abilities as well as Business development.

Brenda, Center Administrator

Hello! I'm Brenda, the Center Administrator & an LPN for over 26yrs now. So, at age 53 that is literally half of my life! I tell everyone it is no longer a job, but it's who I am. I went back to school in my mid 40's and earned my Bachelors in Business with a focus on Healthcare Administration. I worked full-time while also going to school full-time online with Liberty University. I now have the privilege of leading this amazing team! We look forward to serving YOU and our Community by combining Quality medical care with superior Customer Service! I love people & love to laugh even if it's at myself! Bet I can make you laugh too!

Victor Agbai, FNP

Victor graduated with his bachelors of science in nursing at Chamberlain University, then completed his master of science nursing from Chamberlain University in 2022. He has more than seven years experience in the medical field as a registered nurse, specializing in oncology and orthopedics. Victor holds two national board certifications with the American Nurses credentialing Center (ANCC) and American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Victor resides in Raleigh NC, and enjoys baking, working out and watching and playing soccer on his free time

Juan Powe, FNP-BC

Juan joins American Family Care Raleigh Midtown as a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. His interest in the medical field was sparked by his beloved grandmother who encouraged him to take medical science courses in high school. Armed with a passion to improve the health of others, Juan obtained his Associate Degree in Nursing from Wake Technical Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Winston-Salem State University and a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Juan has served as a bedside nurse and answered the call of the COVID-19 pandemic. He traveled as a COVID response nurse to hospitals suffering shortages prior to practicing as a nurse practitioner. He enjoys educating students, other healthcare providers and the community. American Family Care Raleigh Midtown offers Juan the opportunity to make meaningful connections that improve patients’ health one visit at a time. Outside of the office, Juan can be found visiting the local greenways, spending time with family, and hitting up the local festivals and vendors. As a native of North Carolina, born and raised in Raleigh, Juan is committed to giving back to his community through his education and service.

John Carmack, MD, MPH, Colonel, USAF (ret), Regional Medical Director

John Timothy Carmack, MD, MPH, received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, in 1989. He is board-certified with over 25 years of experience in emergency medicine. He graduated from the 2006-2007 inaugural class of the Medical Society of Virginia Foundation Claude Moore Physician Leadership Institute, the James M. Johnson Physician Leadership Program, and is a graduate of the United States Air Force Commanders Development Program and the Air War College, Maxwell AFB, AL.

Dr. Carmack joined American Family Care in 2020 after a long career in emergency medicine. He works with multiple AFC locations in both Virginia and North Carolina leading the provider teams and ensuring high quality and patient centered care. He enjoys spending time with his three children, working on his farm and fishing on Chesapeake Bay.

Kathleen Lawn, FNP

Hi! My name is Kathleen and I'm a Nurse Practitioner. I have been a Nurse Practitioner for 4 years, and dually certified in both Family and Psychiatric Mental Health. I believe overall health includes both the body and the mind. I enjoy developing close professional partnerships with my patients and guiding them through the journey of achieving their optimal health. I currently reside in North Carolina, but grew up in a very rural location in Northern Wisconsin. I'm a big Packer and cheese fan 😁. I am Married, with 3 children, a dog named Blu, and a cat named Pepper.

Hello, My name is Natalie . I’m a certified Medical Assistant and certified Phlebotomy Technician. I really enjoy caring for people. I’ve been in the medical field for about 17 years.
