Expectations

At AFC Urgent Care of Ridley, an appointment is unnecessary because all our physicians are USCIS Designated Civil Surgeons. We conduct Immigration Physicals anytime 8 AM-8 PM Monday through Friday and 8 AM-5 PM Saturday and Sunday; however, you must arrive at least three hours before closing as physicals can take up to two hours for one applicant (depending on vaccination and health history), so please plan accordingly. Depending on what specific labs and vaccinations are required for you, your Immigration Physical will typically require 2-3 visits to our center. All fees are due at the time of service. If you need a translator to help with the process and discussions with our USCIS Civil Surgeons, you should bring one with you.

During your visit, you will meet with an Immigration Administrator who will speak with you about the process and give you the necessary paperwork. The administrator will also collect your vaccine and medical history that you have brought with you. We cannot accept any vaccinations that you have had prior without documentation of it being done. Once all paperwork is completed, our Medical Assistant will take your vitals and escort you into an exam room. Our Civil Surgeon will then perform the physical portion of your exam. Then, any necessary Vaccinations/Immunizations/Blood draws will be conducted.

At this point, the physical portion of your examination is complete. If you received a T-Spot (tuberculosis blood test), please allow some time for that test to be processed. If an RPR (Syphilis Test) is drawn, it could take 4-5 days to receive those results. Therefore, please allow a minimum of 7 days from your first visit with us to the date you can pick up your final and completed USCIS Certified Immigration Physical packet.

Picking up your completed USCIS Certified Immigration Packet

Our staff will call you to pick up your completed and certified USCIS Immigration Packet after all your test results and certifications are final (usually within 7 days from your first visit). At that time, you will be given a sealed envelope containing the certified and complete packet that you, in turn, will give to your Immigration Lawyer or the Department of Homeland Security/U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services. We will also give you a copy of the entire packet for your records.

Congratulations on completing this critical step toward your citizenship!

AFC Urgent Care FAQs

  • Why choose AFC for Urgent Care?

With state-of-the-art centers and a professional medical team, AFC provides on-site X-rays, labs, procedures, and more!

  • What's the difference between AFC Urgent Care and emergency room services?

Urgent care is for medical conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life. Here is a simple rule of thumb: if your medical issues(s) are life threatening, call 911, or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an urgent care center such as AFC is an excellent alternative.
