How The Rapid Test Can Detect Covid-19
The test itself is performed in our on-site laboratory by combining the sample and a specific mix of chemicals in a machine designed to only detect the active COVID-19 virus. The chemicals break down the sample and expose the genetic material of the virus if present, detecting it in the sample. The results are displayed on the device’s screen, printed, and brought to our front desk, where someone will contact you the same day.
What To Bring For The Covid-19 Rapid Test
Masks or face coverings worn over the nose and mouth are required for patients who have symptoms. Masks should only be lowered to collect the swab sample when asked by the medical team. The process only takes a few short moments and is painless, though the patient may exhibit some mild discomfort. The sample is taken to be processed and analyzed at our on-site laboratory where the results are shared with you and your healthcare provider.
What Should I Do When I Get My Test Results?
Should your test come back positive, you will need to self-isolate and prepare to quarantine for at least 10 days and until you are no longer contagious. If you have a negative test result, you should continue to follow local and CDC healthcare guidelines including washing your hands frequently, wearing a mask in public, and practicing social distancing.
