Our physicians will give you a thorough medical examination to qualify for your CDL medical card. DOT Physicals require a urinalysis screening before you are considered medically fit to drive. Fortunately, we have an onsite state-of-the-art lab at our medical facility. This means in most circumstances, we can get the results of your tests while you wait. You will not have to go to another facility to get a sample taken and tested. Everything is done in-house at AFC Urgent Care South Philly.

Our certified physicians will perform your exam, which will include:

• Review of your medical history
• Urinalysis
• Measurement of your height, weight, blood pressure and heart rate
• And a review of your lung, vision and hearing function

The U.S. Department of Transportation mandates that anyone applying for or with a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) must pass this exam a minimum of every two years. The time between DOT Physicals may be shorter if you have a medical condition that requires more stringent monitoring. Whether seeking a CDL for the first time or getting it renewed, we can serve you here at our walk-in medical clinic. Assuming you pass the exam and there are no medical concerns, you will leave with your Medical Examination Report and a DOT medical card.
