What Should I Expect At My Immigration Physical?

At our clinic, immigration physicals are conducted over two separate visits. At your first appointment, the medical staff will review your medical history and perform standard wellness testing.

During your second appointment you will meet with a Civil Surgeon and undergo a full physical examination. The medical staff and Civil Surgeon will perform the following evaluations during your immigration physical:

  • Physical Exam
  • Mental Evaluation
  • Review Of Medical & Immunization History
  • Chest X-Ray (If Necessary)

What To Bring To Your Immigration Physical in Kent, WA

You will need to bring the following to your immigration physical:

  • Bring your own interpreter
  • Government-issued identification (driver’s license, passport, government ID card) for all family members, including children
  • Translated immunization records
  • Hospital records, including proof of potential tuberculosis treatment
  • Previous chest x-rays (if applicable)
  • Records of any mental health treatment
  • I-693 form (filled out online prior to your visit)

What Immunization Records Do I Need to Bring?

We require that you bring a record of the following immunizations to your appointment:

  • Tetanus vaccine (administered within the past 10 years)
  • MMR vaccine (or Titer of immunity)
  • Varicella vaccine (or Titer of immunity)
  • Heb B vaccine (or Titer of immunity)
  • Polio vaccine
  • Flu Vaccine (from the current year)
  • Covid Vaccine (from the current year)

It is important to note that we do not accept lab work proving immunity that is older than 90 days. If you do not have the required vaccinations, we will administer them at an additional cost.

    AFC offers some of the lowest wait times around, with many patients getting in to see a provider in less than 15 minutes. Your exam will probably take around a half hour.

  • What happens if my physical reveals I have a medical problem?

    We’ll complete your paperwork as required, but if it’s something we can help with we might be able to provide you with treatment on the spot. With in-house labs at many locations, you could be on your way without the need for a second visit.
