Whatever the kind of sport and at whatever level it is being played, injuries are quite common. Many professional athletes and those who play for fun have to deal with injuries at one point or another. The most important thing, however, is to deal with it as soon as possible. So, to answer the question, can you get sports injury treatment at an urgent care center. The answer is yes.

Some injuries you can expect to be treated  at an urgent care center include;

  • Concussions

This is a mild head injury that can both have visible and invisible marks. Symptoms that accompany concussions include confusion, loss of consciousness, vomiting, scalp bruise, severe headaches, and excessive sleepiness.

When you notice some or all of these symptoms, you should immediately go to the nearest care center.

  • Strains and Cracks

 If a muscle is overstretched, it is called distortion. Individual muscle fibers or entire muscles eventually tear through when the stretching massively exceeds the muscle’s natural expansion limit. If you notice sprains or cracks, urgently seek help from health care providers

  • Neck injury

If you notice any numbness, arm weakness, or tingling, it is best to visit a care center immediately. A neck injury can leave one unable to swallow or talk. Other symptoms include spasms, stiffness or pain with movement, and muscle ache.

  • chest pain due to a hit to the chest

If you feel pain in the chest or shortness of breath, you should visit the hospital immediately. If you can withstand the pain, an urgent care clinic is a viable option.

  • Shortness of breath

If the shortness of breath improves with time and comes from normal exertion, there is no cause for alarm. However, if the shortness of breath continues and the athlete finds it difficult to talk, you should immediately visit a care center.

  • Musculoskeletal injuries

Any injury an athlete has to the shoulder, hips, fingers, toes, and knees can also be treated in a care center. If there is severe and constant pain from moving or bearing weight or an open wound, it is important that you visit the hospital immediately.

Such cases may also involve x-rays. So, ensure that you go to a care center that does x-rays onsite.

Where to get sport injury treatment

All types of sports present a risk of injury. Generally, the more contact there is in a sport, the greater the risk of contracting an injury. It should be noted that no matter how mild an injury may be, adequate treatment should be applied. This prevents such injury from becoming more complicated later on.

When in need of urgent treatment, you can either book online or call your local urgent care center to get started.
