Dr. David Lauren, D.O., Medical Director![]()
Dr. Lauren brings 20 years of experience in family medicine and urgent care to his position of lead doctor and Medical Director for AFC Urgent Care Stamford. Prior to his role here, Dr. Lauren provided urgent care services to children and adults at the multiple walk-in centers of the Northeast Medical Group/Yale New Haven Health System. Previously he practiced family medicine with Northeast Medical Group/Yale New Haven Health and with St. Vincent’s MultiSpecialty Group. From 1994 through 2009 Dr. Lauren was a family practice physician in Ohio, where he provided services including inpatient care at Genesis HealthCare System’s Bethesda Hospital and Good Samaritan Medical Center. Dr. Lauren completed his residency in family practice in 1994 at The Ohio State University Department of Family Medicine in Columbus, OH following an internship at Doctor’s Hospital of Stark County in Massillon. He received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from The Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Bachelor of Science summa cum laude from the University of Bridgeport. Dr. Lauren is licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health and the State Medical Board of Ohio and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He resides in Huntington, CT with his family.

Margaret A. Romero, APRN – Provider
Margaret A. Romero, a nationally board-certified nurse practitioner, brings more than 25 years of experience in the medical field, beginning as an emergency medical technician to starting up two medical practices in the southwest. She graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with a bachelor’s of science in Biology. Her education continued to graduate school, where she attended Columbia University and obtained both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in nursing. Her background also includes taking over an integrative women’s health center in Boulder, CO and a wellness center with two acupuncturists in Santa Fe, NM., being a medical director at Oz Medical and working closely with celebrity nutritionist and anti-aging guru, Oz Garcia, and performing office/house calls for big-name celebrities administering IV vitamin infusions. She can be found in her kitchen happily cooking gluten-free meals, hiking, or practicing yoga.
Janet, APRN
Janet brings 33 years of experience as a nurse practitioner to AFC Urgent Care. This includes working as a Nurse Practitioner at Family and Women’s Health at SUNY Purchase College and a school nurse for the Greenwich Board of Education’s summer program providing immediate care to students of all age groups. During Janet’s off time, she is also a dedicated volunteer for the Medical Reserves Corp in Greenwich, CT.
Prior to working as a nurse practitioner in the Greenwich area, Janet began working in the medical field as a nurse practitioner at Planned Parenthood in Westchester County, NY as clinic director, clinical trainer and sonographer. Janet completed her Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY in 1982 and Family Nurse Practitioner program in 1997 at Columbia University in New York, NY.
Adam, PA
Adam brings 21 years of medical experience to patient care at AFC Urgent Care. This includes working as a physician assistant at North Shore LIJ Forest Hills Hospital where he was involved in the total care of the surgical patient from admission to discharge. Simultaneously, worked at Eastchester Urgent Care Center evaluating and treating acute and chronic conditions from pediatrics to geriatric population.
Prior to working as a physician assistant, Adam was a Paramedic in both Norwalk and Stamford CT provided advanced life support skills in the pre-hospital setting. Adam attended Norwalk Community College to complete his Paramedic Program in 2000 and St. John’s University to earn his Physician Assistant Certification in 2006.
