Why You Need to Stay Hydrated, Even During the Winter

As the days get longer and colder, you’re more than likely spending more time indoors and less time outside in the cold.

Being out in the sun all summer long can make you thirsty, but it’s easy to overlook the importance of staying hydrated all year.

Staying hydrated is essential to overall health while maintaining functions in your body such as your heart, brain, and muscles.

Some symptoms of dehydration include:

  • Increased thirst
  • Dry mouth
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Tired or sleepy
  • Low or decreased urine output
  • Urine is more yellowish than normal
  • Dry skin

Here are a few ways of staying hydrated this winter season (your dry skin will thank you).

Eat Your Water: Summer is for cold beverages and summer fruits such as watermelon, but you can also increase your water intake with fruits and vegetables that have a high-water content.

Get a Humidifier: Adding moisture to dry air can help keep you hydrated while preventing a sore throat.
