When Should You Go to the ER for Dehydration?

When you're feeling dehydrated, the last thing you want to do is go to the ER. However, there are some cases in which it is medically necessary. There are steps you can take to avoid an ER visit, but it's important to know the warning signs in children and adults.

Dehydration Symptoms in Children & Adults

The symptoms of dehydration in adults and children are similar, but not identical. In both cases, dehydration can cause fatigue, lightheadedness, headaches, dry mouth, and decreased urination.

Causes of Dehydration

How to Prevent Dehydration

There are a few different things you can do to prevent dehydration. First, make sure you're drinking enough fluids every day.

In hot weather, make sure to drink extra fluids and stay out of the sun as much as possible. If you're sick, make sure to drink plenty of fluids and stay out of the sun.
