Swampscott STD Testing at AFC Urgent Care

At AFC Urgent Care Swampscott, we believe that there is neither shame nor stigma in getting medical help when you need it the most. STDs can affect anyone and your health and physical well being should never be a cause for anxiety or stress in your life. That is why we at AFC Swampscott are a no-judgment healthcare facility staffed by highly qualified, board-certified physicians to ensure your healthcare comes first. Our STD testing and consults are not only highly confidential but also fast and affordable and require no prior appointments.

We know firsthand that there is no bad day or time to get tested. The outcomes of testing are often not as bad as people imagine. Testing positive can often lead to the early detection of easily treatable conditions and testing negative eliminates anxiety and stress caused by worrying about one’s health. But ignoring your health is certainly never a good option.

Our walk-in urgent care clinic is open on weekends and operates on a walk-in basis meaning that you can simply come in any time we are open without prior appointments. You will be able to discuss your healthcare concerns confidentially, and without any judgment, with one of our physicians. They will then be able to recommend the appropriate tests you might need. We can do most tests in our clinic within minutes so you don’t have to worry about going to a lab separately! We understand that patients can feel uncomfortable discussing their sexual health and therefore we have collected a number of frequently asked questions here for your benefit. If you have a question not answered here you can always call us at (781) 691-9366 or simply walk-in to our Swampscott MA location at 450 Paradise Road without making an appointment. We are centrally located (near Vinnin Square) and just a few minutes drive from Salem, Peabody, Danvers, Marblehead, and Clifton

What are some of the symptoms of common STDs? Which STD tests will I need?

The symptoms can vary greatly and at times there could be no symptoms at all present. Instead of searching online for symptoms and causing additional stress and anxiety, we recommend that you consult one of our physicians to discuss your symptoms (if any). One of our board-certified doctors with years of experience will recommend the most appropriate tests to make an accurate diagnosis.

Even if you don’t have symptoms you can discuss your case in confidence (remember we care about your health and well-being more than anything else) and our physicians, who are trained medical professionals, will recommend the appropriate tests to put your mind at ease.

Do Insurance Plans Cover STD Testing?

Yes, your insurance plans will cover your visit (if you have an underlying illness or symptoms). We accept most plans in Massachusetts.

What if I don’t have insurance? How much will my visit and STD testing cost?

For patients that do not have a health insurance plan, our urgent care clinic offers very affordable prices for STD testing and treatment. Physician consults at our clinic are currently $75 and you can refer to our self-pay prices for STD testing for individual/panel test prices.

Which STD Tests do you carry?

We are capable of testing for all the most common STDs and can even forward samples to partner labs for more advanced testing. We Routinely perform multi-panel STD tests for the following STDs:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • Hepatitis B & Hepatitis C
  • Herpes
  • HIV
  • Syphilis

If your situation requires additional testing or panels we do not offer, we will collect and forward your blood work or samples to our partner labs for further testing and inform you of the results when they are received.

Do you offer anonymous STD testing?

Yes we do. Your privacy is extremely important to us and we can ensure that your test results are communicated with you alone. Although we accept most insurance plans and credit cards as a forms of payment, many of our privacy sensitive patients choose to pay in cash.

I feel uncomfortable discussing my sexual health. How do you make it easier for patients?

For starters, we are no-judgment health care facility. Our focus is only to ensure your wellness in every possible way that we can, period. That includes not making you uncomfortable in any way. If you would like to discuss your healthcare concerns privately and with a doctor only, you can simply let our front desk know that you are visiting for a sexual wellness checkup. We understand the anxiety that you may be going through and we will try our level best to address your concerns without making you feel uncomfortable. That is our promise.

Your health is important. If you are experiencing symptoms or would simply like to be tested to be safe, don’t hesitate to come by our center, no appointment needed! We are conveniently located at 450 Paradise Road in Swampscott, MA or call (781) 691-9366 if you have any questions.
