Trumbull Tick Bite Treatment at AFC Urgent Care

Tick Bite Treatment in Trumbull, CT

The months between April and September are the most active months for ticks, which is also a time where our urgent care center sees many cases of tick removal and tick-borne illnesses.  At AFC Urgent Care Trumbull, we provide tick removal and tick bite treatment on a walk-in basis, so you never need an appointment to be seen by one of our physicians.
Between 3-30 days following the tick bite, some individuals experience tick-borne illness symptoms such as:

  • Bull’s Eye Pattern Rash
  • Fatigue
  • Fever
  • Swelling
  • Stiffness
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness

Our urgent care center can evaluate and treat your symptoms seven days a week with convenient night and weekend hours.   We also accept most major health insurances as well as provide low-cost care for those without.
You can reduce your risk of catching a tick-borne illness by:

  • Avoiding wooded and bushy areas
  • Wearing protective clothing for outdoor activities
  • Conducing a full-body check upon returning indoors
  • Showering after outdoor activities

AFC Urgent Care FAQs

  • Why choose AFC for Urgent Care?

With state-of-the-art centers and a professional medical team, AFC provides on-site X-rays, labs, procedures, and more!

  • What's the difference between AFC Urgent Care and emergency room services?

Urgent care is for medical conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life. Here is a simple rule of thumb: if your medical issues(s) are life threatening, call 911, or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an urgent care center such as AFC is an excellent alternative.
