The Healthiest Foods On Earth

April 13, 2016

"

When advertisers mention “superfoods”, they’re usually describing foods with seemingly supernatural health benefits. While their assertions are indeed over-exaggerations, there is some truth in what they’re saying. Some of these supposed “superfoods” offer significant amounts of nutrients while others help prevent a number of serious health conditions.

Avocado

You’ve probably heard people say how avocados are full of fat, but with the good kind of fat. These fats are called oleic acids, which are instrumental in helping prevent inflammation. These oleic acids also help the body absorb carotenoids, which are organic pigments known to help protect against a number of illnesses and diseases, including:

  • Lung Cancer
  • Head and Neck Cancer
  • Prostate Cancer
  • Heart Diseases
  • Eye-Sight Loss

Garlic

While garlic won’t do your breath any favors, garlic offers a number of health benefits. Garlic contains Allicin, which helps prevent inflammation, reduce blood pressure and lower the risk of developing several heart conditions. Researchers have also found evidence that suggests garlic’s antioxidants may help decrease people’s chances of developing Alzheimers and dementia.

Broccoli

Broccoli may not taste too great for everyone’s palette, however, there’s a reason parents are so adamant that their children eat their broccoli. These reasons include:

  • It’s an anti-inflammatory
  • Helps with digestion
  • Slows/prevents tumor growth
  • Decreases heart disease risk

Salmon

Salmon contains a type of fatty acid called Omega-3’s, which help significantly lower the body’s triglyceride levels. High triglyceride levels present a number of health risks, including the threat of heart disease. Salmon also has the B3-Vitamin, Niacin in it, which helps combat both Alzheimers and dementia.
