Bursitis: Inflammation of the bursa, small fluid-filled sacs that cushion joints, commonly affecting the
shoulder, elbow, and hip.
Burns: First-degree burns (like sunburns) or
second-degree burns (blisters) that require treatment but are not severe enough for a hospital. Burns can be
caused by exposure to heat sources, chemicals, electrical sources, or radiation.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Compression of the median nerve in the wrist, causing pain, numbness, and weakness
in the hand, often from repetitive motions.
Contusions (Bruises) and Other Soft Tissue Injuries: Caused by direct impact that leads to bleeding
under the skin, resulting in discoloration and tenderness, or other trauma.
Cuts and
Lacerations: Cuts or tears in the skin, potentially affecting deeper tissues. They can
vary in
depth and may require cleaning, stitches, or medical glue depending on severity.
Dislocations: Joints that have been forced out of their normal position, often occurring in the shoulder,
fingers, or knees, resulting in pain and immobility.
Eye and Ear Injuries: injuries to the eyes and ears, including removal of foreign objects
Head Injuries and Concussions: Head trauma caused by a blow to the head, leading to symptoms like
confusion, dizziness, and headaches. Requires evaluation.
Insect Bites and Stings: Reactions to bites or stings, including allergic reactions, which may need
antihistamines or other treatments.
Nail Injuries: Injuries to the fingers or toes, including crushed nails or avulsed nails.
Puncture Wounds: Deep wounds caused by sharp objects that require cleaning and other treatments, possibly
including a tetanus shot.
Sprains:
Stretching or tearing of ligaments, often occurring in the ankle, knee, or wrist, usually from twisting or
overstretching.
Strains:
Stretching or tearing of muscles or tendons, typically caused by overexertion or improper lifting, common in the
back and hamstrings.
Tendinitis: Inflammation of a tendon, often due to repetitive motion, commonly affecting the elbow (tennis
elbow) or shoulder (rotator cuff).
