Can I go to an Urgent Care during COVID?

May 5, 2021

COVID-19 has thrown everything out of wack for 2020. If you are wondering whether or not AFC Urgent Care West Hartford is open, the answer is yes! We are open while providing all of the same general services as before. We have also expanded our services to cover any COVID need you may have. We offer three types of COVID testing and information on any questions that may come up. When coming to see us, we ask that you wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth while maintaining our social distancing standards.

COVID-19 Testing

If you think you may have an active case of COVID-19, you can book a telemedicine appointment, and from there, we will schedule you a time to come in and receive a COVID rapid test. This will tell you if you have an active case of COVID, and you should quarantine for 14 days. If you are asymptomatic and not experiencing any symptoms, you are still contagious and should avoid seeing other people.

If you think you had COVID in the past (over 14 days prior), you may be able to get an antibody test. This test will see if you have antibodies that were used to fight against the COVID virus. These results are ready anywhere between 4 to 7 days after the test.

Non-emergency Services

Accidents still happen, even during COVID. We are here to keep you and your loved ones safe from any non-emergency injury that may occur. If you are unsure if your wound needs an emergency room, refer to our urgent care vs. emergency room page for more information. Our general list of non-life-threatening services includes:

  • Broken or fractured bones
  • Lacerations that may require stitches
  • Rashes and infections
  • Other illnesses or injuries that are not life-threatening

Preventative Services

In addition to accidents, AFC Urgent Care West Hartford offers a variety of preventative care. When you are not able to schedule an appointment with your primary care doctor but have last-minute needs, we are here to help. We offer care for every member of the family, starting at age one. Some of the preventative care services we offer include:
