Frequently Asked Questions at Walk-in & Urgent Care Clinic in Willow Grove, PA
At AFC Urgent Care & Walk-in Clinic in Willow Grove, PA, we look forward to helping you feel better
What is the difference between Urgent Care and Emergency Room?
Urgent care is for conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate, serious threat to your health or life. If your medical issue is life-threatening, call 911 or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an Urgent Care Center such as AFC Urgent Care is an excellent alternative.
What Type of Medical Treatment do you Provide?
We specialize in fast and effective physician care for most non-life threatening conditions due to illness or injury, as well as preventive care, travel medicine, allergy testing, and employer services. We bridge the gap between a primary care physician and the ER, providing extended hours, seven days a week, with CLIA-certified labs, digital x-ray, splints & braces, vaccines, prescriptions & some non-narcotic medications.
However, if you have a life-threatening condition or emergency, you should always call 911 and seek a hospital ER.
How much is a typical visit?
For insured patients, we collect your deductible and/or your co-pay at the time of service and then bill your insurer for you. After your insurer sends us an EOB (explanation of benefits), AFC Urgent Care will bill you for any balance still due.
Our staff will discuss any other recommended treatment or services (such as an x-ray or a lab test) with you.
Do I have to make an appointment?
No, you can walk-in during our normal business hours and be seen by a physician without a long wait.
Do you treat all ages?
We treat all ages.
Do you take my insurance?
We participate with most insurance carriers.
If I have insurance, will I get a bill after my visit?
Our fees are fixed, but the amount your insurance company covers depends on your specific plan, coverage, and deductible. After your insurer produces an EOB (explanation of benefits), if a balance is due, we will bill you for the remaining balance. If an insurance carrier denies a claim, a patient will be responsible for any remaining balance.
How much will the visit cost if I have no insurance?
We have a standard discount for all of our rates for patients without medical insurance. The total cost of your visit depends on the services you use at our walk-in urgent care clinic. Our center offers on-site lab testing, state-of-the-art digital X-Rays, and on-site prescription medication. The costs for these services are additional, but we will always explain the cost before proceeding with any procedure so you can decide whether to move forward or not.
Can I get a discount?
Our rates are very affordable for self-pay patients. For insured patients, coverage depends on your plan and deductible.
Can you do sports and camp physicals?
Yes, we can. No appointment is needed. Come in on a walk-in basis, and we will perform the physical. If there’s a required form, please bring that with you.

I am going abroad, do you offer travel immunizations?
Yes, please, about our Travel Medical Program.
What are various allergy symptoms and triggers?
There are different ways to tell if you are having an allergic reaction. Sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and sinus headaches are the most common. Asthma and skin rashes also happen in some cases. Ear infections, eye irritation, and muscle or joint pain are more serious. These prompt you to seek medical attention as soon as possible.
