COVID-19 Diagnostic Testing

COVID-19, also referred to as the novel coronavirus in the news, is a virus that has quickly spread worldwide since its initial detection in late 2019. COVID-19 is an upper respiratory infection, though the whole body can be affected. Nearly 24,000 cases have been diagnosed in Colorado alone. AFC Urgent Care Louisville & Longmont performs COVID-19 diagnostic patients for patients seven days a week.

Symptoms of COVID-19

Symptoms of COVID-19 may vary from case to case, from mild to severe to asymptomatic. Asymptomatic patients have been common and can be equally contagious as symptomatic patients. The virus is spread through direct contact with infected individuals and surfaces as well as through community spread, contact with communal surfaces or objects infected at an unknown time. Symptoms may include:

  • Persistent dry cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Body aches
  • Fever
  • Recent loss of smell and/or taste
  • Congestion

AFC Urgent Care FAQs

  • Why does AFC provide two different COVID tests?

We offer a rapid test because they provide highly reliable results on the spot; however, they do produce more false negatives than the RT-PCR COVID-19 Test. Doing both tests is our way of ensuring that you get the most accurate results possible without having to put your life on hold.

  • How long does it take to get a COVID test?

We're able to get many patients in and out in a matter of minutes, but the length of time you'll spend in our clinic will depend on wait times that day.

  • How much does it cost to get a COVID test?

That will ultimately depend on your insurance coverage. Presently, many people with insurance are able to get tested at no charge. If you’re uninsured, AFC’s cash pay prices are highly competitive – contact us for the details.
